About me

After studying at the University of Huddersfield graduating with a BMus(hons) and an MMus in composition I quickly became involved in all areas of the music industry.  As a saxophonist I have played and still play with some of the top ensembles in the UK including Quirk Saxophone Quartet, Equinox Saxophone Ensemble, ReedPlay, the Northern Saxophone Quartet, Syd Lawrence Orchestra, SF7, Glenn Miller Tribute, New Squadronaires, Memphis Belle Orchestra, Kings of Swing, Bobby Darin Tribute, National Orchestra of Great Britain and many more.

As a composer I have my arrangements and compositions published and distributed worldwide through Saxtet Publications and Clarinet and Saxophone Classics.  My compositions are often performed at prestigious events and venues throughout the world including World Saxophone Congress', Purcell Room in London, Royal Northern College of Music, Royal College of Music, University of Huddersfield, University of York, Leeds College of Music and many more.  I am often commissioned by performers to write new music for various recordings and performances.  Most recently working with a clarinet and percussion duo on new material to record and include in a concert series.

As well as writing sheet music for performance I also produce and master music for commercial use.  Working with companies over the last year to produce bespoke music and sound design for animations that promote new products.

I am also actively involved in education holding the post of Lead Tutor of Woodwind at Tameside Music Service working with students from primary age through to sixth form.  I am also the visiting saxophone tutor at the University of Keele and have experience coaching on courses with the National Saxophone Choir, Northern Saxophone Quartet and at the Nottingham Saxophone Days.
