CROWDFUNDING my NEW ALBUM Taking steps
Making an album is expensive! I learnt that the hard way when I released my first solo album in 2022 - Overflow.
I am still frustrated that I couldn't do more with that album, I would have loved some physical products to add to the listener experience but with little experience in how to do that and no cash up front, it stalled. On the horizon for a long time now has been a new album with my group - the Chris Jolly Group. Along with the great musicianship of Lucas Kelly (keys), Harry Poxon (bass) and Joe England (drums) we will be recording an album of music that we have been playing live for the last few years, along with some new stuff.
I have no target for this crowdfund but what I do have is a more robust plan to pull together a very good deal for those who feel they can and want to donate to the project. It's not dependant on the funding, it'll happen no matter what and if you purchase anything below it will be sent. Sign up to the mailing list for updates and ongoing offers but for now I will be offering the option to pre-order the album so when it is ready you'll receive a physical copy in the post. For those who are musicians and would like the option to perform my music then you can also buy the pdf sheet music bundle for the music on the album.
Lastly, but by no means least I want to thank you for being here, whether you purchase anything or not, the fact that you are here reading this and showing an interest in my music means the most to me so thank you and I look forward to sharing the results when they are ready.
FAQ
When will the album be finished?
- I don't want to give an exact date for now but I hope to have the recording done sometime the first half of 2025 and everything released and sent by the end of 2025.
Will I get a refund if it doesn't happen?
- It will happen! I have fully committed to this project to myself and now to you so I just need to get on with it and deliver.
Can't I just stream it online?
- Yes, I fully intend to release it on streaming platforms but the physical CD release for those who pre-order will be sent out before the release online and you'll also get the tracks as mp3 downloads.
What if I don't have a CD player?
- I hear you, I don't have one either but I do still buy the physical products from the artists I like as I know how far the money can go when putting new music out. If you never listen to the CD then it would make a good coaster?
